The AXAGON RSS-CD09 internal frame is designed to be mounted instead of the existing 9.5 mm CD/DVD drive. It is designed for 2.5" SSD/HDD SATA drives. You can easily replace the optical drive in your laptop with a hard drive.

The SATA 6G interface allows you to enjoy the speed of modern SSD disks up to 6 Gb/s. Thanks to the absence of complex electronics, it does not slow down the data transfer speed and supports all modern functions such as TRIM. This reduction ensures wide compatibility with various notebook brands. The ODD frame can be set via double switch so it will work with most notebook brands like LENOVO, HP, DELL, ASUS, ACER, SONY, TOSHIBA and others.

It is possible to use standard 2.5 SSD disks with a height of 7 mm as well as hard disks with a height of 9.5 mm. The ODD caddy with mounted disk behaves like a standard hard disk in the operating system and in the BIOS (UEFI). By inserting a disk into the adapter, you can easily add an internal 2.5" disk, which can be used to supplement an existing notebook disk.Booting support can significantly speed up older notebooks by adding a 2.5" SSD disk.

The unique screwless disk mounting system is secured with a rubber spacer or rubber thread plugs. Rubber insert plugs also help minimize hard drive vibration. Metal springs help fix the adapter in the optical drive bay. The metal frame body is made of aluminum and ensures perfect mechanical protection of the inserted disk. The built-in HQ capacitor helps stabilize the SSD/HDD power supply. Elegant built-in LED indicates disk insertion and data transfer.

The package also includes a plastic faceplate (front panel) imitating the front of the optical CD/DVD drive. There are several mounting holes on the back of the reducer to fix in the notebook body.

The overall speed depends of inserted disk type and the SATA interface version of the notebook optical drive.
It is a pure hardware reduction - for all operating systems, no drivers are installed.

The adapter is powered by a 6-pin Slim SATA power connector.

The dimensions of the frame correspond to the slim 5.25" position in the laptop.

Notice:
The height of the original optical drive must be determined before replacement. RSS-CD09 is designed for a 9.5 mm height.
