The NV-FH2 is a high-quality, flexible 8-channel PWM fan hub that is ideal for powering up to eight fans in home, office, or multi-purpose applications via an external power supply with a 5.5mm barrel jack (e.g. Noctua NV-PS1, optionally available). It is compatible with 5V, 12V, and 24V fans with a 4-pin PWM or 3-pin connection, and supports a total power draw of up to 60W. While 3-pin fans can be speed-controlled via voltage adjustment, 5V and 12V PWM fans can be controlled by connecting the fan controller NA-FC1 (optional) to the NV-FH2’s 4-pin PWM input. Alternatively, the NV-FH2 can also be powered through this input (up to 22W total power draw), e.g. in PC environments where it can be operated via motherboard fan headers with PWM control and RPM monitoring, or in combination with Noctua’s 5V PWM fan models, whose USB power adapter cable enables operation of the NV-FH2 via power banks or standard USB power supplies. With its enhanced protection and signal-filtering functions, the NV-FH2 can not only be safely used with fans that generate high inrush current or interfering signals, but also supports daisy-chaining multiple units for simultaneous control of up to 71 fans. Thanks to integrated magnets as well as mounting tabs with screw holes, mounting the NV-FH2 is easy: the former allows a simple snap-on placement on steel surfaces, and the latter enables mounting with screws or cable ties. The hub can be operated either with or without the included snap-on cover, allowing it to be protected from dust, contact, and mechanical effects or enabling monitoring of the fans’ operating status via the status LEDs.
