The Thermal Grizzly Ryzen 7000 Direct Die Frame V2 (DDFV2) is a CPU mounting frame specifically developed for the AMD X3D processors of the 7000 series, while maintaining compatibility with non-X3D CPUs. Please note that the DDFV2 is not compatible with Ryzen 8000G processors.
It is compatible with both standard Ryzen 7000 processors and X3D CPUs, allowing them to be mounted with this direct die frame without the integrated heatspreader and without the Socket Actuation Mechanism (SAM). The changes made to the Thermal Grizzly Ryzen Direct Die Frame V2 compared to the AMD Ryzen 7000 Direct Die Frame became necessary after AMD added extra adhesive dots to the X3D CPUs.
