Arctic, formerly known as Arctic Cooling, is best known for its very quiet and affordable CPU coolers. In order to ensure the most efficient transfer of heat from the processor to the cooler, the engineers didn’t rely on third-party products but instead developed their own thermal paste. In addition to high performance, practicality was a key focus.
Over time, Arctic has released a whole range of thermal pastes and continues this evolution with the MX-4. The thermal conductivity has been increased compared to the MX-3, from 8.2 W/mK to 8.5 W/mK. With four grams, the syringe contains enough paste for several applications.
Furthermore, this thermal paste contains no metallic components but consists of carbon microparticles. The main advantage of this composition is that the paste is non-conductive, so accidental short circuits are impossible if the paste comes into contact with other hardware components. Application is therefore much easier. Additionally, the Arctic MX-4 2019 Edition lasts for eight years after it has been applied.
The manufacturer also pays attention to sustainability in packaging: the new, recyclable packaging reduces environmental impact by 40 percent during production. The new packaging is also lighter than before.
