Fluid Dynamic Fan Bearing
High-performance Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fans are engineered to take advantage of oil’s impact-absorbing effects. These fans are extremely reliable and generate significantly less operating noise and heat than ball bearing fans. Lubrication of the bearing surface reduces friction and vibration, thereby lowering overall power consumption. Thanks to smoother, quieter rotations and robust construction, this reliable fan technology greatly extends fan lifespan.
When the fan shaft rotates, high-pressure oil flows along the grooves of the bearing sleeve, creating a thin lubricating layer between the bearing surfaces.
As speed increases, dynamic oil pressure also rises and the shaft is lifted from the bearing, ensuring smooth, effortless rotations. The herringbone pattern of the grooves efficiently channels the lubricant and prevents leakage.
