The Ducky One 3 Classic Black/White SF in detail
The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard is designed to give you the best typing experience possible. Expertly crafted with a focus on short response times, the Ducky One 3 delivers a luxurious typing feel for gamers and keyboard enthusiasts alike. The switches are not soldered, but mounted in sockets, making them extremely easy to swap out with no soldering required.
This version of the Ducky One 3 comes in a 65% SF form factor. By omitting the numpad, function keys, and some navigation keys, it requires even less desk space than a typical TKL keyboard, though it is less suited for office work. To save space, the arrow keys are also shifted inward.
Mechanical switches in detail: Cherry MX Red
This model uses Cherry MX Red switches. These key switches offer a linear actuation and low resistance. This makes them an excellent choice for rapid multiple key presses in action games and first-person shooters, as a tactile bump is not necessary for quick strokes. They are also very quiet.
QUACK Mechanics
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy. Ducky focuses on four key aspects for typing feel: keycaps, case, sound, and stabilizers.
That’s why all versions of the Ducky One 3 offer high-quality PBT keycaps. This semi-crystalline plastic is especially popular with keyboard modders for its abrasion resistance. Ducky uses a double-shot molding process, so legends remain clearly visible. Unlike other plastics, these keycaps do not develop a glossy shine even with intensive use, meaning your keyboard stays looking new for longer.
Low-profile case and soft sound
A common complaint about mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly designed case of the Ducky One 3 is slimmer than its predecessors and, together with the three-stage feet, offers better wrist comfort.
To enhance sound and typing feel, Ducky tested 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional EVA foam layer to effectively dampen resonance and harsh keystrokes while typing.
