AUTOBOOST AND HORIZON LOCK

With HyperSmooth 6.0, HERO12 Black automatically ensures you get wider shots by using video stabilization based on your speed and movement in the scene. Horizon Lock is part of HyperSmooth 6.0, which makes it easier to keep the horizon straight when the camera rotates a full 360°.

NEW MAX LENS MOD 2.0 EXPANDS THE ANGLE OF VIEW

Now you get the widest, highest and most exciting viewing angles, including an ultra-wide 177° viewing angle - all in 4K60 quality. Max HyperSmooth offers solid video stabilization in all video modes, making it a great upgrade for mountaineering, skiing and other extreme sports.

HDR VIDEO SUPPORT

The Hero12 Black now supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) video in 5.3K and 4K60 formats, offering greater detail and color in highlights and shadows.

LARGE IMAGE SENSOR ALLOWS DIFFERENT FRAME RATIOS

Use the Hero12 Black for a wide range of aspect ratios - choose between widescreen, vertical or full frame, depending on whether you're recording for traditional widescreen clips or for social media.

10-BIT COLOR PROFILE AND TIMECODE SYNC

The 10-bit color profile allows for enhanced color depth, smooth transitions and more realism. Additionally, for pro creators, GP-Log encoding can be used with a LUT to maximize dynamic range before applying color correction. There's also a new TimeCode Sync feature that lets you sync multiple Hero12 Black cameras via the Quik app.

BLUETOOTH AUDIO SUPPORT AND LARGE PHOTOS UP TO 27 MP

Now you can use Apple AirPods, Bluetooth headphones or other wireless microphones for interviews or narration. With the Hero12 Black, you can use voice commands remotely and listen to warnings from the camera. The camera has the ability to shoot impressive 27 MP photos and make high-quality frame extractions directly from video.

DOUBLE LCD SCREEN AND SMART PHOTO MODES

Enjoy smooth feedback on the ultra-fast rear touchscreen and turn on the first screen to take selfies. Smart photo modes like Hindsight, Scheduled Capture and Interval Photo let you capture every moment exactly the way you want it.

IN-CAMERA POWER TOOLS ENABLE MORE CREATIVITY

Hindsight lets you record up to 30 seconds of footage before you start recording, even if you press the shutter too late. With Scheduled Capture, you can turn on the camera in advance and automatically save footage up to 24 hours in advance. With Interval Photo, you can automatically take photos at a certain interval, while you can focus on your favorite activity.
