The DS-2CD2043G2-IU model is an AcuSense camera, dedicated to continuous operation in intelligent video monitoring systems. The camera is equipped with an efficient 1/3" CMOS sensor with a sensitivity of 0.005Lux, generating an image with a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 (4Mpx). The IP camera uses an efficient H.265 image compression algorithm, ensuring trouble-free and smooth image transmission. Additionally, it has a built-in Motion Detection 2.0 function, which allows for the classification of objects - by creating the so-called activity masks in the camera, you can determine what type of objects are to be analyzed (vehicles, silhouettes of people). The device also has a built-in microphone, enabling threat detection via audio .

The 1/3-inch CMOS sensor and the lens with a fixed focal length of 2.8 mm used in the DS-2CD2043G2-IU network camera allow for a very wide viewing angle of approximately 103° horizontally. Such a wide viewing angle makes the presented Hikvision camera ideal for viewing and recording all events within the monitored facility.

Wide-angle models with a 2.8mm fixed focal length lens are the most frequently used camera versions in CCTV installations, due to their versatility and high quality of the provided video material.

Hikvision AcuSense series network cameras use technology based on artificial intelligence. The intelligent image analysis technology implemented in Hikvision cameras and recorders from this series allows for significant minimization of false alarms caused by the movement of unimportant objects, for example the movement of leaves or the movement of small animals. Devices with the AcuSense logo use machine learning technology to classify recognized objects even better. After configuring the camera, we are able to trigger an alarm only when a person crosses the line or enters the detection area. AcuSense devices also have a quick search function. Thanks to the recorded video frames of each object, the camera can categorize it and then find it easily and quickly. Unique image analysis functions as well as efficiency and speed make the AcuSense system very simple and effective to use.

Power supply via PoE

The DS-2CD2043G2-IU industrial camera can be powered in two ways - classically via a 12VDC socket and directly via a UTP twisted pair using Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. Power supply via PoE can be provided directly via a Switch or PoE Injector. The benefits of using the PoE standard include:

• Reduced installation time and costs thanks to simplified cabling structure
• no need to install additional power supplies
• ability to power cameras at a distance of up to 250m (EXTEND mode)

Remote configuration and operation

To connect to the network, the camera uses a standard Ethernet interface (self-adaptive) with a speed of 10/100 Mbps. This connection allows you to configure work, modify image parameters, as well as live view and playback of recordings (cameras with a microSD slot). The connection itself can be made on three different platforms:

iVMS-4200 program and HikCentral - dedicated VMS-class software for managing video monitoring, allowing for advanced modifications of the entire system and management of event detection and intelligent image analysis parameters

WEB web browser - allows you to quickly establish a connection using the camera's IP address, providing access to the full functionality of the device. It is recommended to use Internet Explorer for Hikvision systems.

Hik-Connect mobile application - a mobile platform for Android and iOS, enabling live viewing, playback of recordings and receiving notifications about events within the system. The Hik-Connect platform uses a cloud connection, which eliminates the need for port forwarding on the router

Using the cloud to establish connections between the system and the user allows access and configuration of the camera from anywhere with Internet access - both on mobile and stationary devices (PC, Laptop).

Efficient data compression

• H.265/HVEC codec

New models of network cameras from Hikvision use the efficient HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) codec, known in the CCTV industry as H.265. This standard was created in response to the need to transmit high resolution video materials (4K) without excessive load on the transmission link. Compared to the previous H.264 standard, the new technology allows for almost double bandwidth savings, which in CCTV systems translates into an extension of the archiving time of material on disk, an increase in the available network bandwidth and an extension of the life of data carriers. Moreover, the difference in the quality of video material in H.265 compression, compared to the H.264 version, is practically unnoticeable.
