Lanberg Switch 24x1GB POE+ 2xGB RSGE-24P-2GE-2S-36
- Gigabit RJ-45: 2
- Klass: Unmanaged
For him, power is not a problem: a simple and functional LANBERG POE+ switch
The PoE+ switch is an indispensable active device in any network structure that uses power transmission through structured cabling. RSGE-24P-2GE-2S-360 is dedicated to all installations: home, company, low-voltage, monitoring, IP, VoIP, cable TV networks, and in particular will be used in the alarm, fire and access control infrastructure.
In addition to the original function of the switch, i.e. handling the movement of Ethernet frames between ports, it additionally provides power to each device in the PoE / PoE + - 802.3af and at standard. This allows the devices to be supplied with a total power of up to 360 W. And all this together with the simultaneous transmission of data to them.
This allows you to save resources, space and time that would have to be spent on the installation of a separate electrical and network installation. This is especially important if the network is dispersed and its end devices do not have access to a power source, especially when they are installed outdoors.
A solution without compromise - real POE budget: 360w
The switch is equipped with a total of 28 ports, including 24 PoE+ (Gigabit Ethernet), 2 Uplink (Gigabit Ethernet) and 2 Uplink (SFP Gigabit) ports. A well-thought-out design and attention to the quality of components provides the user with up to 360 W of total real power for end devices, which means that it is possible to connect simultaneously:
- 24 devices in the IEEE 802.3af standard (max. 15 W per port) or,
- 12 devices in the IEEE 802.3at standard (max. 30 W per port),
The other 4 Uplink ports (2xGigabit Ethernet and 2xSFP Gigabit) work independently and can work simultaneously. They are dedicated to exchanging data traffic between 24 PoE+ ports and external devices. In the case of monitoring/control systems, this is particularly useful, because it allows the user to download the recording from the cameras to the recorder while sharing the stream further (on the second port), e.g. in the local network or on the Internet.
Intelligent function of disconnecting POE ports
It is not always clear how the switches will behave when the available PoE budget is exceeded. There are several possibilities: a port that is over budget or a random one or the most recent one connected will be disconnected. In the last case, what will be their order after a power outage and its restoration when they are all connected to the switch at the same time?
In the RS series switches, Lanberg has introduced an innovative solution that eliminates any doubts as to the mechanics of the ports operation through the simplicity of the operating principle.
When the PoE budget is exceeded (e.g. by a device connected to port 1), the switch will start disconnecting PoE ports starting from the highest numbering until the sum of loads exceeds the available budget; while keeping the operation of the other ports intact. Those that are disconnected will remain in this state until the PoE load decreases.
The function is primarily dedicated to demanding applications that emphasize safety and business continuity, where some devices must operate without interruption regardless of the situation. In such cases, Lanberg switches will allow the user to protect sensitive devices by connecting them to the lowest numbered ports.
EXTEND mode up to 250 meters
Standard switches, in accordance with the standard, provide the ability to operate devices at a distance of up to 100 m on one cable section. However, sometimes, due to the extensive backbone and complex environment, a custom solution that goes beyond the standard is required when developing cabling and networking. In the case of monitoring solutions, this is a fairly common problem, most often resulting from too great a distance between the distribution device and the end device.
Lanberg switches have a function that enables data transmission (max. 10 Mbps) and PoE+ power supply up to 250 m on one cable section. Simply switch the button to the PoE+ Extend 250m position on the case to provide extended operation for ports 1 ~ 24.
The solution was introduced for monitoring and IP as well as access control systems, especially if the terminal equipment is located outdoors without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points.
4 kV surge protection
The switch itself, as well as the devices connected to it, are repeatedly exposed to various hazards, including current discharges that can flow through both power and network cables.
With the safety of the devices as well as their users in mind, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated discharge protection circuit, guaranteeing 4 kV protection for all ports, effectively reducing their damage due to surges.
Under standard conditions, network operation will continue uninterrupted, the switch will continue working without any interruptions, and the user gains the safety of the device as well as the infrastructure.
Mounting kit included - ears to 19"
The RS switch series is characterised not only by the quality of construction, simplicity of use, functionality of the device, but also by the complementarity in terms of mounting and supplied accessories where possible.
Lanberg has introduced a set of accessories for versatile mounting of its switches. The RSGE-24P-2GE-2S-360 provides mounting ears for 19 cabinets and a set of mounting screws (except M6). This enables wider use and greater freedom of installation of the RS series switches.
